FAQ'€™s about Canvas Printing

  • How long does the printing on canvas last before it starts to fade?
  • As long as any painting would last, literally hundreds of years.
  • What is the difference between stretched and unstretched canvas?
  • Stretched canvas is tensioned over a 22x44mm pine wood frame whereas unstretched canvas is only printed on the canvas material and is give to the client to do the tensioning themselves or have it done elsewhere.
  • Do you deliver?
  • Yes we do deliver in Pretoria, Centurion, Randburg, Midrand, Fourways and Sandton at an additional fee.
  • What is the procedure that I need to follow if I wish to place a canvas order?
  • You will need to pay a 50% deposit of the amount you were quoted on, send us an order via email with instructions as well as the artwork you wish to have printed onto the canvas. There after we send you a sign-off/proof of what the end result will look like, if you are happy you sign it off and 5 to 7 working days later your order will be complete. The balance is payable upon collection where we only accept cash or eft payments.
  • Is there a difference in price between Sepia, Black & White or Full Colour?
  • No, the reason is because we make use of large format digital printers that print in CMYK and print directly from the computer. The number of colour is the artwork makes no difference.
  • Do you also offer an installation service for the canvases?
  • Yes we do, however very few clients ask us for this as it is relatively easy to do it yourself if you know how to hit a nail into a wall.
  • In what format must I send the artwork/print file?
  • Jpeg, bitmap, tiff, eps or pdf, the actual size of the file will be relative to the size of the canvas you want to print. You can get away with a file of about 100kb if you a€™re printing an A4 size canvas, but if you want to print an A1 we recommend a file not smaller than 1.5MB
  • What are the most common pictures you print onto canvas?
  • Nature landscapes, family and wedding photos
  • Does the side of the frame also get printed?
  • You can specify, if not it will be white
  • On what material do you print the canvas?
  • We print onto Picasso Artist Canvas, around 550 gram per square metre. The same as what is available in the art shops and what is used by artists.
  • Will I get a better price if I order a larger quantity?
  • Yes, of course. We offer a great reseller prices to clients who are registered as resellers in the printing, graphic designing, and photographic and/or promotional item industry.
  • Do you have a minimum order amount?
  • Yes we do, R250 excl Vat. This means that you will have to make up an order of at least R250.
